You Look Like Me Attended Forest Hill High School To Lead a Program for All Males
On November 6, 2025, YLM founder and CEO Avaughn Johnson stepped into Forest
Hill to do more than speak he invested.
Addressing a group of 11th and 12th grade young men, Johnson led an honest and
impactful conversation about the realities and responsibilities that come with stepping
into manhood. From education and athletics to life after graduation and even sex
education, the discussion centered on preparing these young men for the choices and
challenges that lie ahead.
But this moment reflected something greater than a single conversation. It embodied the mission behind YLM’s STRONG initiative a commitment to guiding the next generation of young men toward resilience, leadership, and purpose. Through mentorship and open dialogue, Johnson helped create a space where young men were not just spoken to, but seen and supported.
The conversation encouraged them to think beyond their present circumstances and
consider the futures they are capable of building as leaders, role models, and
changemakers.
When young men are given guidance, honesty, and room to grow, they are empowered
to lead lives rooted in integrity and impact.
